If you think of weight loss as a “diet” you’re probably going to put back on any weight you lose and then some. Diets are temporary. When you make the change to a healthier lifestyle you are literally changing the way you live. Successfully changing your lifestyle is the real key to long term weight management.

You need to think about the long term, not just dropping xx amuont of pounds by next month. If you make a permanent change to your lifestyle managing your weight will become a whole lot easier!

If you want your body to become an efficient fat-burning machine you need to get adequate sleep every night of the week. You must give your body time to rest itself both physically and mentally. If you are feeling tired it’s your body’s way of saying go to bed! Feeling tired also limits your performance during exercising which is really limiting your fat-burning potential.

Food companies are always looking for ways to make their foods seem healthier than they actually are. Many food companies often put very small portion sizes on their packaging so when you read the nutrition information it looks like there is little fat/carbohydrate/salt content. This is why you should always read the “per 100 grams” information. That way you can work out the percentages really easily. For example, 15 grams of protein per 100 grams is 15%. Easy. It’s something to look out for next time you’re in the supermarket.
